Links and directions to obtain clearances

The PA Department of Education requires that a signed training plan and agreement between the school, employer, student and guardian be put into place. UBCTS coordinators will create your personalized training plan and agreement prior to scheduling an in person meeting with the employer, student, guardian, and coordinator to obtain signatures.

Employers are required to:

  • Provide a challenging learning environment for the student while encouraging career development

  • Train and mentor the student in safety, health, and required job duties

  • Provide periodic evaluations on the student’s job progress

  • Meet with coordinator once a month to discuss job tasks and obtain feedback

  • Follow all federal and state laws and regulations regarding minimum wages with correct tax deductions, worker’s compensation, and child labor laws

  • Obtain child abuse clearance, criminal background check, and FBI digital fingerprinting prior to student working

  • Follow the specific training plan and agreement for the individual student
