January 2026 Student of the Month - Will Rabenold
We are pleased to introduce Will Rabenold, a Quakertown senior in the Small Engine Technologies program, as our January Student of the Month.
Will resides in Quakertown, with 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Will is the baby of the family.
He started his UBCTS journey back in 8th grade, when he had the opportunity to shadow welding, carpentry, and small engines. Because he likes dirt bikes and taking things apart to figure out how they work, small engines was the natural fit, and he began in 9th grade.
Will credit Mr. Young with being a fantastic instructor, providing the 'why' for doing a particular procedure, along with step-by-step instructions, and then hands-on training. This is the perfect combination for him.
Some of his school highlights include competing. He has competed in SkillsUSA, Harley-Davidson, and Briggs & Stratton competitions. He was also fortunate to attend the SkillsUSA Professional Development Conference. Another great highlight is participating in the co-op program with his Mentor, Jesse James. Here, Will learns the entire car from mechanical to bodywork, and he helps with the complete restoration.
After graduation, Will is considering joining the Air Force as an aviation mechanic. He believes this will be a good opportunity for him to travel and explore, and also to get pushed out of his comfort zone.
A few interesting facts about Will: 1. He drives a retired police car. How cool is that? 2. He is the master of Facebook Marketplace. If it is mechanical, he is willing to buy, fix, sell, or trade, and he has made some pretty good deals doing it. I don't know how his parents feel about having a lot of vehicles in the yard, but it seems to be working out well for Will.
Will’s long-term goal is to figure out exactly what will make him the happiest in his career. He is not opposed to trying new career pathways to find what is best for him. And UBCTS knows that, no matter which path he chooses, he will be successful.
